ROMANIAN WRESTLING FEDERATION – short historical
As we mentioned before, the formalizing moment of the Romanian sport was established by the foundation of the Federation of Sportive Societies in Romania (F.S.S.R.) ON 1ST of December 1912.
The first time it was talked about wrestling as a sport branch was on 5th of April 1925 when it took place the general regular assembly of F.S.S.R. in which it was decided the unitary management of each sportive discipline. As presidents of the Central Commission of Sports were chosen: C. Manuilă (fotball association); Novrea (winter sports), dr. Talangescu (boxing), M. Economu (tennis), Th. Rosetti (ski), captain Ţane Săvescu (rounders), Dinu Cesianu (fencing), Capt. Mircea Savu (wrestling), A. Leucuţia (athletics), Georgescu Pălărnidă (cycling), dr. Ritter (water sports); This was the formation moment of a structure specialized in wrestling.
In 1927 the athletic commissions were modified as follows: A.S.R. prince Niculae (athletics), Mihai Savu (boxing), George Plagino (shooting), Dr. Ritter (water sports), Gr. Caracostea (rugby), Neagu Boerescu (wrestling), Capt. Săvulescu (rounders), M. Iconomu (tennis), Th. Rosetti (ski). Dinu Cesianu (fencing), Georgescu Palamidă (cycling), Iorgu Arsene (winter sports), A. Leucuţia (football).
In august 1929 the Parliament voted for the Law of Physical Education through which it was settled that the management and organization of the athletic activity would be made only through the Union of Sport Federations from Romania (UFSR); A year later legal status of the athletic federation was recognized;
According to Ghibu E. and Todan I. on 23 November 1930 in Oradea was founded the Romanian Wrestling and Weightlifting Federation, formed by a temporary committee, and the recognition of the formal character of the structure was made in 1932 when Camil Manuilă was chosen as chairman of the Federation, after they previously the headquarters was moved to Bucharest in 1931.Currently in F.R.L. are active all the sections of wrestling, free style wrestling and feminine wrestling from the athletic clubs and associations in order to develop and practice this athletic branches. F.R.L. carries its activity based on the State and on the organizing and performance regulation, having a legal personality and encourages the amateur athletic activity.The status of amateur athlete implies protection from FRL regarding the social assurance for injuries and illness caused by training and competitions and indemnification the schooling on the period of competitive activity.
The supreme leading organ of the FRL activity is the General Assembly; the decisions made are lead to fulfillment by the Central Colleges and Commissions of the forum:- The Central College of Coaches (with the commissions of wrestling, freestyle wrestling and feminine wrestling;
- The Central College of Coaches;- The Commission for competitions and athletic qualifications;
- The Commission of wrestling for Olympic promising, youth, juniors, cadets and students;
- The Commission of discipline and education;
- The Commission of propaganda, documentation and press;
- The medical Commission;- The Commission for the budgetary execution and material assurance;
- The Territorial Wrestling Commissions;
- The Commission of guidance and control of the training in the performance sections;
- The Commission for training and improving the frames;- The Commission of feminine wrestling;
- The Commission for the relationship with FILA, COSR and other institutions;
-The Commission of elaboration of the Federation’s Newsletter;
The activity of these colleges and central commissions is coordinated by the FRL Bureau: made of the chairman, 2 vice presidents, 1 general secretary, 1 assistant general secretary and 1042 members. Each of them has written in the job description attributions, duties and responsibilities that would lead to the accomplishment of the entire management system activity.
